Sault police arrested a 30-year-old woman Sunday for her role in a violent confrontation that took place earlier this month.

On Nov. 10, local police were called to a business in the 200 block of Second Line West over a report of an assault.

While the suspect, Melinda Robinson, had already fled the scene, officers discovered that the 30-year-old had thrown a hot beverage at one of the business’ employees and pushed/scratched a second staff member.

The employees sustained minor injuries and police obtained a warrant for Robinson’s arrest.

Officers finally located Robinson at her residence on Sunday and placed her under arrest for assault and assault with a weapon.

The accused was eventually released from custody on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 22, 2023.
