St Mary’s College had to send pupils home as a precaution after a “bomb threat” was sent this morning which police currently believe to be a hoax.
In an email at 10:42am today, the school in Cranbrook Avenue said children were being moved to a safe location. Parents told Hull Live their children were first evacuated to the University of Hull and then sent home.
The email to parents and carers read: “We have just received a security alert at the school and are relocating students to a safe site. Please do not call the school or students in the meantime so we can keep communication channels clear and please do not turn up at the school.”
St Mary’s College requested that parents and carers did not call so it could keep communication channels open during the incident.
Hull Live has approached Humberside Fire and Rescue Service and Humberside Police for comment.
